International Day 2025 at LumenSoft

This International Coffee Day 2025, we joined the world in celebrating the International Coffee Organization’s theme — Embrace Collaboration. What began as a simple V60 brew turned into teamwork, with our barista guiding the pour and the team joining in. Just like in cafés, the right people (and the right café software) make every cup a richer story

“Rinse the filter really well… it helps remove the papery taste and improves the flow of coffee through the filter,” the barista at LumenSoft explains to Abid from QA. Abid nods with quiet confidence — after all, process improvement is what he does best.

With the filter rinsed and ready, freshly ground beans are poured into the damp, snug paper resting in the carafe. Now, Saif from the dev team, carefully takes the kettle to begin the pour.

“Not too fast,” the barista cautions. “If the water gushes through, you’ll under-extract. But if the fines settle and block the filter, you’ll end up with a bitter brew.”

Saif hesitates for a moment. He knows precision matters — a software engineer always knows this. But he also knows that even Nadim, the QA manager, can’t debug a bitter cup once it’s brewed. The laughter around him makes it clear — this is about learning together.

The Grind Matters and Café Software Keeps It Consistent

Why a brewing class?

Because at every step, coffee teaches lessons cafés know well: preparation, timing, collaboration, and creativity. And who would understand that better than a software company that builds the very software cafés use to thrive — Nimbus Restaurant Software,  & Candela Food complete café software designed for coffee shops, cafés, and restaurants.

So somewhere between grinding beans, inhaling aromas, sipping our freshly brewed coffee, and even turning stains into art, we discovered something simple but true: brewing coffee has a lot in common with running a café.

The Grind Matters and Café Software Keeps It Consistent

Just as the barista told us, the grind sets the stage for the brew. Too coarse, and you’ll sip on something flat. Too fine, and bitterness sneaks in.

Running a café isn’t much different. Your “grind” is the preparation — inventory planning, menu setup, and staff training. Get those wrong, and the experience can fall flat or turn unpleasant. But when the basics are dialed in, everything flows — just like a perfectly balanced pour. That’s where NimbusRMS-Food  and Candela Food step in, helping cafés set their grind size just right with stock management, recipes, and processes that actually work.

The Pour Counts

When Saif from dev tilted the kettle, the barista quickly warned: “Not too fast — or the water will rush through, leaving you with under-extracted coffee. Too slow, and it can clog, turning bitter.”

Cafés face the same challenge. Pour too much effort into one area and you risk neglecting another. Focus only on speed, and quality suffers. Take too long, and customers lose patience.  NimbusRMS-Food  and Candela Food help cafés find that perfect balance. From order management to billing, it ensures your coffee shop software keeps operations flowing smoothly — steady, consistent, cup after cup.

Timing is Everything for Coffee and Café Software

As the V60 dripped slowly, everyone looked on, waiting for that perfect moment when the brew was ready. Too early, and the flavors would be flat. Too late, and the brew would become bitter.

Running a café isn’t much different. Timing isn’t guesswork — it’s driven by data. Sales analytics tell cafés when customers crave that caramel latte, and when cold brew suddenly becomes the hottest pick on the menu. That’s where Nimbus restaurant Software  and Candela Food lend a hand — giving café owners real-time insights to make the right call at the right time. Just like a perfectly timed pour, it keeps the flavor — and the business — spot on.

Collaboration Brews Better with the Right Café Software

As the barista guided the team through V60 brewing, everyone else leaned closer — asking questions, watching the pour, and of course, taste-testing to deliver the final verdict. It showed us that collaboration isn’t always about everyone doing everything at once — sometimes it’s about one person sharing their craft, while others learn (and laugh) along the way.

That’s the spirit of this year’s International Coffee Day theme: Embrace Collaboration. Cafés thrive the same way, with skills shared, knowledge passed on, and teamwork brewing stronger with every cup. NimbusRMS  and Candela RMS make that teamwork easier by keeping everyone — baristas, managers, owners — on the same page.

Creativity Has a Seat at the Table Powered by Café Software

Coffee brewing is an art — but our team decided to take it a step further, turning coffee stains into “masterpieces.” The splashes and folds revealed surprising patterns, and the process was as fun as the results.

It reminded us that cafés aren’t just about transactions; they’re about creating experiences. With Nimbus, cafés get the space to be creative too — whether it’s crafting unique menus or experimenting with seasonal specials. Because when creativity pours in, customers keep coming back.

Every Cup Has a Story of Collaboration

When the coffee was finally poured, it wasn’t just about the caffeine. It was about the journey — beans, grind, pour, patience, people. Cafés live these stories daily, and Nimbus helps keep them flowing — from stock to sale to satisfied sips. Because behind every cup, there’s more than coffee. There’s connection.
